I thought I’d take a minute and mark some important dates over the next few weeks.
Tomorrow at 10:00 am the County Commission votes a recommendation on the ‘Verde’ transmission line proposed by Hunt Power. That is here in Espanola in the commission chamber at the annex on Industrial Park Road.
Friday at 6:00 pm Rio Arriba County Democrats meet for the county convention. We would like to make a showing, visit with folks, and get a sense of what might be possible leading up to 2018. It is being held at the Hernandez Community Center.
On the 7th of April we will meet with our friends from RESOLVE and Indivisible Espanola at Northern New Mexico College. We have the cafeteria in the Montoya Building. This will be an ongoing event the first Friday of each month. After brief opening remarks and a little ceremony, you can join one of three breakout groups. They are a local project group now planning for the Renewable Energy Festival, a national issues group, or a group organized around educating ourselves about culture and current topics. The potluck goes from 5:30 to 6:00. The event wraps up by 7:30. We should all figure on attending.
Saturday, April 15th at 3:00 in the afternoon is Islam With Tea. You must RSVP for this event. Gretchen sent out the invitation a couple days ago.
Earth Day is April 22nd. The Scientist’s March on Washington is that day and that is also the second and final day of the Renewable Energy Festival.
So now you have a plan!
